About me
How it all began
I started taking photos at the age of 3 with my first own camera! Some time later I lost interest and completely abandoned photography, only taking occasional photos with a point-and-shoot camera. Years later, I got my first digital camera, a pocket-sized Canon A70 (still a good one!), and my passion for photography was revived. Later on I went through a few other digital cameras and eventually chose an EOS system to work with.
Equipment
Nearly all the photos on the following site have been taken with an EOS SLR system, some of the my highlits being
- an EOS 5D Digital SLR camera body,
- a 20D camera body,
- a Sigma 500DG Super Flash,
- a 18-50mm lens,
- an EF 50/1.8 MkI prime,
- an 80-400 EX super-tele-zoom from Sigma and my personal favorite: a 75/1,5T Carlz Zeiss Biotar.
A photography equipment is like a football team - you need to constantly change players in order to keep up.
Motives
Basically I am shooting everything I think it's worth being shot and/or want to share with others. Carrying a few lenses around is not always possible for a non-professional, so I often use only the normal 50mm lens and try to concentrate on simple thigs.
Digital vs. film
Although I am using entirely digital equipment for all the shots, I try to post-process them as little as possible, so that they look natural or they resemble closely what I see with my eyes.
